| SEVEN PILLARS: The National Treasure Artists of Vietnam
Seven Pillars brings the most renowned artists of Vietnam together for the first time in a major exhibition. The exhibition showcases 150 works by Bui Xuan Phai, Nguyen Sang, Nguyen Phan Chanh, Nguyen Gia Tri, and To Ngoc Van. The exhibition contains paintings, drawings, prints and mixed media pieces. None of the work in the exhibition has been previously exhibited in the United States and most of the work has yet to be exhibited outside Vietnam. For the Vietnamese American communities, Seven Pillars is especially important because it will offer them a rare opportunity to celebrate their history in a setting until now unattainable. For U.S. museums the exhibition will provide a vehicle to begin a dialogue with a group generally unaffiliated with mainstream cultural programs. . |
