RICH STREITMATTER-TRAN
My recent research investigates the liminal spaces between and within performance, graphic design, computation, and video. for more extensive documentation.

I am a fulltime student at MassArt double majoring in graphic design and the studio for interrelated media (SIM). I am most interested in experimenting with personally unexplored forms of creative expression in new or digital media and consider this type of experimentation with computational design (that is, at the level of code) and information more personally rewarding than a successful tween in flash. mainly, because it forces you to realize "limitless restrictions" that may not exist in template-based approaches. Often at this level it hurts and it is painful and you fail-- a lot. but in that struggle, new possibilities give form that could never be realized in a commercial package where someone else has designed the tools for you. design is based belongs to both the humanities and humanity and when it attempts to distance itself from either, design loses meaning.
