March 3
• Leave Boston 7:25 am on United Air #973 to IAD
• Leave IAD at 12:30 pm to Incheon, Korea, on Korean Air flight #94.
• Arrive Incheon at 5:10 pm (March 4)
March 4
• Leave Incheon, at 7:30 pm and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, at 11:00 pm.

March 5 (Saturday)
• Breakfast. (Suggest Breakfast or lunch with Rich Streitmatter-Tran).
• 9AM Depart hotel for HCMC Fine Art Museum and Blue Space Gallery.
• Lunch free
• Afternoon Market and Dong Khoi Street shopping.
• Late afternoon Janna and David will meet with students to talk about the history and arts of Ho Chi Minh City.
• Dinner open. Students welcome to join David and Janna or dine on their own.


March 6 (Sunday)
• Breakfast.
• 9AM Depart by bus for the Ho Chi Minh Fine Arts University (Mass Art’s sister school). Brief tour of school. Pick up Rich Streitmatter-Tran and students and depart for day trip out of the city. Details arranged by Rich.
• Dinner at home of Le Cong Hau and wife Hue with Mr. Dong (ask him to bring a portfolio of his drawings) and other invited guests. (bring thank you gifts)
• See if Rich can arrange late night Xoam ride through the city.


March 7 (Monday)
• Breakfast.
• 9AM Depart for visits to artist studios and galleries. Schedule and details arranged by Rich Streitmatter-Tran.
• Late afternoon arrive at Mai's Gallery for lecture on Contemporary Vietnamese art.
• Dinner with Mai and Ho Chi Minh City artists.


March 8 (Tuesday)
• Fly to Da Nang City
• Air Viet Nam #324 leave HCMC at 11:30 AM, arrive DA NANG at 12:40 PM
• Visit Cham Museum in DaNang
• Drive to Hoi An (45 MINUTES) stay at:
Peace Hotel (Hoa Binh Hotel)

• Late afternoon walk or bicycles to tour Hoi An City.
• Great place to have clothes custom made overnight.

March 9 (Wednesday)
• Breakfast and check out.
• 9AM drive to the ancient site of My Son.
• Lunch on the road
• Drive to Lang Co Beach Resort (three hours).

• Check in and afternoon and evening to relax at the resort.
• Dinner at the resort.

March 10 (Thursday)
• Breakfast and late morning check out of hotel.
• Bus departs hotel for one hour drive to Hue.
• Noon, Check into Hotel.
• Bus leaves for afternoon walking visit to the Citadel. Janna and David will talk about the historic significance of the area.
• Dinner at great Italian restaurant in Hue City.


March 11 (Friday)
• Breakfast
• Depart for river trip to the Thien Mu Pagoda and Mr. Ung’s village.
• Late afternoon and evening free to explore.
• Suggest visit to galleries, shops and market.
• Dinner open.


March 12 (Saturday)
• Breakfast
• Depart by bus to visit foundry where bells and Buddhist objects are cast. Visit one Royal Tomb before lunch.
• Lunch?? Location
• Visit second royal tomb and pagoda of Thich Nath Hanh.
• Visit market late afternoon.
• Dinner open.


March 13 (Sunday)
• Depart for day trip to country villages near the Laotian border (if we can get government permission).
• Lunch outside Hue City and Dinner open


March 14 (Monday)
• Morning free for shopping or gallery visits.
• Breakfast and hotel check out.
• Depart for airport at 1:00 pm Flight to Hanoi. Flight #244 departs Hue at 2:40 pm and arrives in Hanoi at 3:50 pm.
Bus to hotel.

• Lunch and Dinner open
• Afternoon walking tour of Historic Hanoi with Janna and David. Visit lake area and 36th street area. Visit galleries in the area including Mai Gallery.
• Dinner at Nang Tam Cam Chai (traditional Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant).
• Minh's Jazz club to finish off the evening.


March 15 (Tuesday)
• Breakfast.
• Visits to artists studios (Dang Xuan Hoa, Dang Ngoc) and Mai Gallery and Salon Natasha.
• Lunch at KoTo Restaurant with the Director of the National Fine Arts Museum, Dr. Binh
• Afternoon visit to Temple of Literature and Museum of Fine Arts.
• Water Puppet Theater in the evening
• Dinner free (Thyme Restaurant recommended).

March 16 (Wednesday)
• Breakfast.
• Depart by bus to But Tap Pagoda and lacquer artist Phan Cam Thuong and Ceramics Village.
• Evening visit with Suzanne Lecht. Ask her to show her slides on Contemporary Vietnamese Art.
• Dinner with Suzanne and possible other Hanoi artists at the Emperor Restaurant.


March 17 (Thursday)
All day trip to Ha Long Bay
• Dinner at Cay Cau Restaurant at the De Syloia Hotel.

March 18 (Friday)
Breakfast and check out.
• Depart for visit to artist studios in morning.
• Lunch at
Cha Ca Restaurant (traditional stir-fried fish and greens).
• Afternoon free.
• Final Dinner at Hotel or local restaurant.
• Depart for airport at 9:30 pm


March 19 (Saturday)
• 0020 am depart from Hanoi on Korean Air flight #8684
• Arrive in Incheon, Korea at 6: 20 am
• Depart Korea at 11:00 am on Korean Air flight #081
• Arrive at JFK, New York at 10:40 am (same day)
• Depart JFK at 1:25 pm
• Arrive at Logan Airport, Boston at 2:45 on Delta flight #5732
